Nichita had been running non-stop for the past three days and had not eaten since her pit stop in Dallas last week. She slowed down and took the chance to look around. It seemed as if she was in a forest; it was safe to phase back. Stepping into the shadow of a tree, she willed her body to shift and winced slightly as she stretched. She quickly untied her clothes from her ankle and dressed.
It seemed no matter how long she ran, she could never escape her problems. It had been two years...two very long years since she lost her parents and her sister. The only upside to it was that Nakita was still out there somewhere. However, there was still no sign of her; wouldn't she at least try to contact Nichita if she were safe?
Feeling the anger she held for the Volturi boil up inside of her, she quickly released a lightning bolt she had absorbed a month ago into the ground. The last thing she needed was to let her emotions get the best of her and blow up a tree or something. Rolling her neck from side to side, she smiled at the release of tension as she heard the distinct crack.
Deciding it best to keep moving, she stepped out onto the well worn trail. She knew that she was somewhere in the northwest U.S., she just wasn't sure where exactly it was. What she needed to do was find a town or somebody that could help her. She had no idea what she was going to do or where she was going to go from here. She didn't want to stay in any one spot too long, but for some reason she felt safe here.
She smiled to herself as a little ways down the trail she picked up the scent of wolves and vampires. Maybe this wouldn't be such a bad little town after all.

Leah was utterly bored as she was aimlessly walking in the forest. It was a nice day, the sun was shining, warm wind was brushing against her face, and the sky so perfectly blue. She liked that forest, it was a nice forest. So calm and peaceful. The perfect place to run away from her problems. And she had problems. A lot of the. Sam Uley for example. She grimaced at the tought of him. How much she missed him, how much it hurt her to see Sam with Emily.... But before she get to start to think about how much she hated Emily, her nose caught a strange scent. She inhaled deeply and it filled her nose. It was so weird, so unusual. Somehow a mix of vampire and werewolf. She glanced around, but saw nothing. She was curious and picked up the scent. Soon a small grey wolf was running through the forest... She didn't have to run for a long time, after few minutes she gaught a glimpse of brown hair between trees... It belonged to a girl, a girl she had never seen before... „This is interesting," Leah thought,“ She phased back and started following the girl

Nichita's sensitive ears picked up on the soft pitter patter of something following her not long after she started walking. Turning her head ever so slightly so as to determine whether or not she was being followed, she also caught the scent of werewolf.
Lovely, she thought, just what I need right now.
She continued on walking, showing no sign of having noticed her follower. After a while though, it began to get annoying. Quick as a flash, she turned around and pinned the wolf with an icy glare.
"Do you mind telling me why you insist on following me?" she asked, her voice an ethereal mix of bells and gravel.

Leah was shocked, how had she known? They stared into each other eyes for a minute. She contemplated wheter to phase back or not. This girl sure seemed to know something.. And she smelled so weird... Leah vanished for a second between the trees and came back completely dressed. „Who the hell are you,“ she asked, „and what are you doing in my forest?“

Nichita smirked at the question. "Who I am, I think, is irrelevant. And as to this being your forest, I just arrived so I had no idea that this land belonged to anyone," she said flippantly.
She looked around at her surroundings for a moment and then back to the girl. "Anyways, I was just on my way to find the town here. Maybe find a place to stay, figure out if I want to stay here or continue on my way," she said.

Leah eyed the girl suspiciously. Who did she think she was? „Well...“ she began, „If I wanted somebody to show me the way to town, I would tell her, who I was... Or what I was...“ she emphasized the word what.

Nichita eyed the girl suspiciously. "My name is Nichita and what do you mean what am I?" she asked curiously. She didn't want conflict, she only had issues with one group of people and they didn't even live on this continent. She just wanted to get some food, rest, and figure out what she was going to do now.

„Well, I don't know... Is it normal for you to see a wolf and to just start talking with her? And you smell weird,“ she said. She didn't mean this as an insult, she only stated a fact. She weighed her opinions, she was really bored, before adding, „but if you want to go to the town, I could show you the way...“ She was surprised to hear how friendly her voice was. It had been a long time since she had a reason to be friendly, with somebody. „But only if you tell me who you are...“

Smelled funny? That was impossible. Just as no vampire had ever been able to smell her wolf side, no wolf had ever been able to smell her vampire side. Or the combination for that matter.
Shaking away the dread of the possible threat this could cause her, she pasted a friendly smile on her face. "Like I said, my name's Nichita. Nichita Peone," she said, "I've been traveling for a couple of years now. Just haven't found my place yet is all," she lied easily. Though she may choose to be friendly with this girl, she far from trusted her to know her secrets, especially considering they had just met. Besides, Nichita had quickly become accustomed to not trusting easily after her parents died.

The girl seemed reluctant, Leah could tell. „Okay,“ thought Leah, „You don't want to reveal your secret? That's fine. I'll find this out anyway,“ She then forced a smile, „I'm Leah Clearwater,“ She held out her hant, „I'm from the Quileute tribe. I live in LaPush, but a small town named Forkd is close. I'll show you the way,“ She started walking, asking the girl to follow her. They were both quiet for a while. Soon, small raindrops started to fall down. „Its very rainy here,“ Leah's coice was cold again, „I suggest you to run while you can. This place pretty much sucks,“

Nichita was hesitant to shake the other girls hand. Due to her hybrid blood, her body temperature ran colder than a normal human's. Leah would be used to a temperature between 98 and 108 degrees for a human and freezing cold for a vampire. Nichita's body ran at a cool 76 degrees, a very noticeable difference.
Settling on a very quick shake, she began to follow the girl. "Forks is fine," she said, "anywhere where I can find a place to eat and sleep."
After a few moments it began to rain and Nichita smiled. The irony of the rain in her life, both good and bad, just like the blood that ran through her veins.
"It's very rainy here. I suggest you to run while you can."
Nichita just laughed. "I'm fine with the rain. Better when it's around actually." This place just kept getting better and better.

Leah raised her eyebrows, „really?“ she asked sceptically. This girl was weird, Leah hated rain. She hated how rain always magnified her feelings. Of course, Anger and solitude were her two constant companions, but rain made it even worse. The girl's body temperature had been weird. She still felt it in her palm. Not warm enough for a human but far from freezing gold of vampires. She was very curious by now. Maybe it wasn't such a boring day after all.

"Yes really," she said and then fell into silence. Hearing a slight rustling to the left of her, her eyes fell on a small doe. Half tempted to ease her hunger a bit, she told herself that she would be in town soon and would be able to eat a real meal. Forcing her eyes back to the trail, she considered the options that she had.
She could grab a quick bite to eat and take a short nap then be on her way again, or she could stick around for a bit and see what this town had to offer. It had to be the hundredth time she had tossed the options around since ending up in this forest. I'll just have to wait until I see what the town's like she thought. But she had a good feeling here. Maybe she could finally get the help she had been looking for.

They walked in silence. The girl didn't see to want to have small-talk and Leah was grateful for that. She had plenty of problems to think about. Her empty stomach for example. She remembered that last time she had had something decent to eat was 3 hours ago at school. She heard her stomach growl and dreamed of a good tasty sandwich. Suddenly, she saw a small doe between the trees, She felt a sudden urge to jump on it, but her sense told her no. She didn't want to scare that girl. And besides, she hated eating like a werewolf, she always tried to push that part of her away, as far as possible. Soon, little houses began to appear between the trees. They were getting closer to the city. „So... here we are,“ she said pointing toward the houses „We have some restaurants and guest-houses. They are easy to find. Just follow the main street. She would have liked to crab something to eat too, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to dine with this company. „Or...“ she added before she could stop herself, „do you want me to come with you?“ She still wanted to know her secret after all..

Nichita looked at the the houses and then back to Leah.
"You can come or stay. But it sounds like you're hungry," she shrugged. It didn't matter to her either way. She would be able to smell out a restaraunt by herself. But this girl seemed curious about her. That didn't matter though, she wouldn't be getting anything more than need to know information.
