Esme had had a long day cleaning up the house. She enjoyed ensuring her family had a clean nice home to come to. They were a clean and tidy family and since they really didn't sleep it gave them extra time to do all their chores. She had been cleaning at human speeds that morning just to pass her time that day. Every now and then there was the urge to take her time and not take for granted the little things that make their life easier.
Her task of cleaning the living areas, Carlisle and her room and also his office took all morning and most of the afternoon. It was now early evening and she had decided to indulge herself. She curled up with a classic book and sat near the large window to enjoy the scene before her. The sight of her clean home and the special effort she put into it made her quite happy.
Upon opening her book she thought she heard footsteps though she wasn't paying enough attention to identify whom they belong to.

Rosalie let herself into the house and removed the shining black patent leather jacket that she was wearing over a purple silk short sleeved peasant-like top. She carefully hung the jacket on a coat rack beside the door, smoothing it so that it hung perfectly straight. Before stepping beyond the threshold, she paused to look down at the black leather knee boots she wore over her tight fitting jeans.
The house appeared as though Esme had recently cleaned. And Rosalie certainly didn't want to be the one who tracked mud all over the clean floors. Carefully, she reached down and tugged her boots off while still maintaining her perfect balance.
"Anyone at home?" She called as she stepped slowly into the front room.

Esme was pleased to hear the sound of her oldest daughter's voice. Rosalie was such a delight to have in the family. Especially when she was able to bring home Emmett. Their love for each other has always made Esme happy. She wanted the best for her children and wanted to make sure they would be able to have an eternity full of love. She sniffed the air to see if anyone else was with Rosalie.
"I'm here, Rose. Come and tell me of your day." she said in a quiet tone but loud enough for Rose to hear her plainly. She sat up to face Rose as she arrived and readjusted herself to make room for Rose to join her comfortably.

Jasper had taken some time to himself after school had let out and had taken a book out to the edge of the forest and allowed himself some time alone with his thoughts and a book. The woman who had died in front of him a few days before still haunted him and he was trying his best to push past it but he could still see her face and hear her scream in his mind but slwoly she was beginning to fade and Jasper didn't know if that was something to be thankful for a fear for.
As the sun had begun to set he had picked himself up and had made his way back to the house where he assumed the rest of his family would have begun to make their way home for the evening. He pushed open the front door and immediately noticed that Esme had apprently been very busy with her day by keeping the house in such amazing shape.
He made sure to kick off any dirt which may have caught to his boots before making his way into the front room of the hosue following the voices of his mother and sister.
"Evening," Jasper stated with a small smile to mask his worry and more unpleasent thoughts which he had grown to keep to himself as he walked fully into the room the book he had been reading tucked under his arm.

Esme noticed Jasper come in very shortly after his sister. She was glad to see he was doing well considering he watched a woman die the other day. He seemed to be okay, for now at least. That was a comforting thought for Esme. She worried about Jasper most due to him being the newest of their clan. Especially in situations as that it was harder for him to be around people and not be tempted. She was proud of him for not giving into temptation.
"Good Evening, Jasper. Would you like to join us we are sharing about our days?"

Jasper smiled lightly in response to Esme’s welcome. She always seemed to be in such a pleasant and uplifting mood no matter what it was actually a nice spot of vacation from the emotions he normal had to contend with a curb in regards to some of the other Cullens.
“Sure I’m sure Rose can start out with her shinning disposition at lunch time?” Jasper said with a slight smile as he looked over at his sister remembering the rather foul mood she had been in at school.

Esme was going to wait to see what happened before reacting. She had learned long ago that it was a waste of time and emotion to react before hearing the situation because sometimes siblings liked to embellish. She waited until Rosalie was comfortable before beginning the inquiry.
"Rose what happened today?" Esme got a little comfortable in her spot but left her posture very open and inviting for their conversation.

Rosalie crossed the hallway in a few quick strides at the sound of Esme's voice.
"Hello Esme." She leaned down to brush her lips against the other woman's cheek. "What are you reading?"
Rosalie took a seat beside Esme and leaned back, making herself comfortable as she drew one knee up to her chest.
From the moment Jasper entered the room, she knew she would hear his complaints about her mood earlier. Oh well, two could play at that game should it begin.
"Today? Well, are you sure you want to be asking me first? Or should you be more concerned about the fact that Jasper's watch is clearly broken, making him and the others so incredibly late for lunch today."
She smirked at her brother, knowing Jasper would have some sort of come back. She should have been a bit more accepting, patient, especially after what he'd recently experienced. But he was more than capable of taking care of himself, so why should she worry herself?
"You know how much I like to wait on others." Rosalie shot Esme a knowing look, rolling her eyes as she became impatient at the memory.

Alice walked up to the house, grinning, swinging a bag in one hand, her purse swung over her other shoulder. She'd gone for a small trip to a mall and ended up buying something. Thankfully she hadn't gone on a massive spree....the stores would eventually have to close after all.
Almost everyone's cars seemed to be home which was a good surprise. Swinging the front door open she swept in. "Anybody home?" She closed the door with a small snap.

Rosalie's head turned towards the sound of another party moving in the house. Alica, the sound quickly identified itself.
"We're here, Alice." She answered briskly before turning back to Esme.
"I'm certain Alice is going to expand on this story, so you'll get all the gory details. Not that she was particuarly on time at lunch either, I just didn't opt for letting her walk home tonight."

A moment later Alice appeared in the room. She held up a hand before anyone, especially Jasper, could protest. "Now before anyone says anything I only bought a jacket. I was very good," she said, holding her bag a bit protectively. Alice sat in the arm chair next to where Esme sat.

"Let me see." Rosalie moved to Alice's side in one motion and her hand instantly intercepted the bag, pulling it out of her sister's grip.
Opening the bag, Rosalie nodded. She reached in and pulled out the garment, admiring it thoughtfully.
"It's very nice, Alice." She admitted as she tossed the bag to the floor and shook the jacket out. "I think it'll look lovely on m-you. But the polite thing to do would be to let me borrow it."
Rosalie folded the jacket and draped it across the side of Alice's chair before returning to her own seat.

Alice couldn't help but grin when Rosalie took her bag and looked at the light blue jacket. She'd had a feeling when she got it that it would easily be able to be shared among the women of the house should anyone choose to borrow it. Unlike Rosalie she tended to share a lot...besides it was an excuse to get more clothes after all!
She let out a small laugh and nodded as it was placed on the back of her chair. "Of course Rose. I figured you'd like it. Blue always looks good on you."

Rosalie smiled when Alice spoke and she got her way. It wasn't that she was expecting not to, it was just nice to receive it without too much of a fuss. Maybe she'd take note of this and share something of hers with Alice....maybe.
"You didn't happen to pick up a watch while you were out, did you?" Rosalie gave Alice a serious expression of concern. "I thought that maybe if you had, it would prevent any futher late arrivals for lunch-and maybe you could share that with Jasper."

"Ha, ha," Alice remarked, arching a brow but smiling. "You know I almost did but I decided letting you borrow the jacket might make up for being late....at least for me being late. Jasper you're on your own love," she said with a wink.
"What's really funny is I saw a fairly nice one the other day and almost bought it. Ironic, no?"
