Why can't people in this country mind their own freaking business!!!! Lily thought to herself as her Uncle dragged her into the police station while filling her ears with a string of profanities that even she had never used.
Two day's after the terrible party incident, her Uncle had returned home. Being the smart sensible girl she was, Lily didn't mention a thing to her uncle about the party or the cops for that matter. But as it turned out Orrin had the neighbors keeping a watch over his niece and they told him everything.
Out of every reaction she could think of, Lily hadn't expected her Uncle's behavior at all. Orrin was usually a quiet man, but as she was quickly learning he didn't appreciate Lily's abuse of his kindness.
"Your mother and father would never have let you get away with this like your grandmother did! And I won't either!" he yelled at her with his thick Irish accent. As she tried to reply he just yelled right over her, "I took you in hoping that maybe you'd grow up a little, but I guess I was wrong."
And this was the speech that led up to Orrin taking her to the police station and he was going to make sure she was punished whether she liked it or not. As he walked up to the counter he asked in a horse voice to speak with Chief Swan as Lily inwardly cringed.
