Rosalie had been examining her fingernails. She had no interest in doing anything to help out Bella. But her family was involved, and they needed her. She would do it for her family.
"Come on, Jasper." She grumbled as she grabbed her brother's arm and dragged him towards the trees. Letting go of him, she grasped the branches of a pine tree and began climbing towards the top.

As she finished disposing of the dead human bodies, Victoria stopped dead in her tracks. She could sense somehow that she wasn't the only vampire in the forest at the moment. The Cullens, perhaps? Probably. The bastards had probably picked up her scent. She then pulled a disgusted face as she noticed the air reaked of werewolf. So had those damn muts decided to start protecting the human bitch, too? No matter there. She could rip them to pieces in a New York minute. It wasn't the werewolves that worried her. The Cullens were most likely a match for her, and she was outnumbered. Could Bella possibly be around? It was difficult to tell, seeing as the scent of human was on the air due to her most recent victims. Did she know the vampires that were nearby? She thought the Cullens were the only permanent coven in Forks. She hadn't interacted with enough of the locals to be able to tell whether or not that was true. "Damn it," she muttered, confused. She ran her hand over her mouth, wiping the dripping blood off her face. The bodies were well-hidden enough. Since she wasn't sure she knew the nearby vampires, it was a good idea to get going. She let out a frustrated growl, then sped off out of the forest.

Bella couldn't find the trail again for the life of her. She stopped and turned around in a circle, hoping to see something -- anything -- that looked even vaguely familiar. Sighing, she went in the direction she thought she had come from and doubled her walking speed. She just wanted to get home, to be in Edward's arms and forget about today.
She figured Victoria had probably hidden whatever bodies she had fed upon. Turns out it wasn't well enough. Bella saw drops of blood and was drawn in the direction that it was going. As hard as she tried, she just couldn't turn away from it. A few seconds later she let out a loud, ear splitting scream.

Edward listened to Esme's instructions, nodding when he found necessary. He was spending all the energy he had at the moment trying to keep himself calm, so he could actually pay attention to the strategy. But it was easier said than done. Edward spent most of the time looking to the ground, trying to keep himself together. He tried a couple of times to catch Bella's scent, but the fact that Victoria had probably killed some other people - the scent of blood was all around the place - didn't make things any easier.
"I can go by myself", Edward answered to Esme's question, and then, he ran into the forest. While he looked around frantically, trying to get a glimpse of Bella - or Victoria -, Edward heard it. A long, loud scream. Bella's scream.
"Oh no, oh no, oh no", he kept mumbling to himself as he doubled his speed. Focus. That was all he needed. If Edward could get focused, he would be able to separate Bella's scent from the rest, and that would lead him to her. But it wasn't easy. It wasn't easy before, and now it was almost impossible. Edward tried not to think about all the what if's that kept lingering in his mind. What if they were too late? What if Bella was already dead when they got to her? What if Victoria found her first?
Edward looked desperately for any sign that Bella had been there. He was fighting the will to scream her name, but that would turn his position in. At the moment, it didn't seem so bad, but he knew that it would have disastrous consequences later. However, if Victoria hadn't found Bella yet, Bella had turned her position in because of the scream. And Edward simply wouldn't let Victoria find her before he did.
"Bella?!", Edward yelled, and suddenly stopped running, trying to remain as silent as possible, waiting for hearing any sign that Bella had heard him.

Victoria crouched low, concealed in the shadows. She could hear their voices even from where she was. That was part and parcel when it came to vampirism--heightened senses. A voice had clearly said "Bella". Yes, the Cullens--the Cullens were definitely there in the forest. Victoria wasn't fool enough to pick a fight with them. She'd have to wait until she had allies. There was no way she could go up against all of them alone, no matter how strong and fast and capable she was. She'd best stay hidden until they left the forest. She moved even further back into the dark of her hiding place.

Alice resisted from being offended that Edward didn't want her help by going with him and instead held her head high and with a slight nod to the rest of her family turned and set off into the woods like her brother. She tried to ignore the sense of dread she felt as she ran through the blurs of brown and green. Glimpses into the future seemed to speed by like the trees and she tried to decipher them as she went. The unmade decisions however caused them to change with every passing moment.
She saw a glimpse of red hair dashing in the opposite direction, a family of three dead corpses, Bella talking and then stumbling onto them. Not even a moment later she heard a scream that caused her to stop suddenly. "Bella," she murmured before tearing off in the direction of the yell.
She didn't see anymore visions of red hair but she did see various people showing up first to find her dear friend. Edward first. Now Esme first. Herself first. A red flash again however it was in the opposite direction still. Apparently Victoria wasn't as stupid as she seemed. At least they wouldn't have to worry about her....for now.

Bella sat there where she had tripped over an arm. A human arm. She faintly felt the tears falling from her eyes, but she couldn't make herself focus on anything but the blood pounding in her ears. It had scared her half to death to stumble upon the corpses. Yeah, she knew that it was likely that Victoria had fed on the family that she had heard screaming earlier, but it was something totally different to find the drained, dead bodies.
Pulling her knees up to her chest, she wrapped her arms around them and started to involuntarily rock back and forth. She was vaguely aware of the fact that Edward had just screamed her name somewhere in the distance, but there was no way she was going to be to move yet. Her eyes were frozen on the bodies that were piled up in front of her and there was nothing she could do to stop from staring into the lifeless eyes. Eyes and faces that would probably haunt her for a while.
