Bella had left Emily and Lily about 10 minutes ago. She had told them that she was going home, but she really wasn't in the mood to be alone -- which is why she now found herself walking up the steps to the Cullen's house. Having company was so much better than being bored and alone.
Again, she was unsure as to whether the entire family had left to go hunting together or if someone was home. She hoped that someone was -- she really needed something to do.
"Hope someone's here," she muttered and raised her hand to knock on the door.

Skipping down the stairs, Alice headed for the front door. If her calculations were correct, which the almost always were, Bella would be walking up the steps in about 3 seconds and knocking in about 7. Earlier she'd been elated to see her dear friend debating whether to come visit and had silently urged her on. She was practically bouncing as she made her way to the door, happy that Bella had decided to come.
Alice stopped at the door, pausing and counting under her breathe as she waited a moment for Bella before flinging the door open and grinning at her probably startled friend. "Of course someone's home," she said with a wink and moved to let Bella in.
Ah....sometimes she loved having premonitions.

Bella went to knock and was surprised when the door opened. Her reflexes being a bit slower than usual due to lack of sleep, her hand continued on anyway and she knocked on Alice's forehead.
"Ow, ow, ow," she muttered, pulling her hand back and stumbling through the door. "Should have expected that," she laughed softly. Of course Alice was home, and of course she would have known that Bella would be coming by.
She immediately walked into the living and sat on the couch, cradling her hand to her chest. "Sorry, Alice," she said, knowing that Alice would hear her.

Closing the door with a spin Alice called into the living room, "Don't worry about it." She walked into the living room and moved to sit on the couch. "Want anything for you hand?" She was smiling, a small bit, amused. Even though she should be used to Bella and her ability to be injured so easily it was still entertaining sometimes in the ridiculous ways she ended up hurting herself.

Bella laughed slightly as Alice danced into the living room. It never ceased to amaze or embarrass her how graceful Alice was.
"No, I think I'll be fine. I've had much worse and will most likely have worse in the future," she said, "but you could tell me something if you will, before we get too comfortable."

Alice raised a brow intrigued. "I'll answer the best I can," she said with a smile and a shrug. "What's up Bella?" Tilting her head she looked a bit thoughtful before looking back at Bella with a smile still on her face. It didn't look like it was too serious a conversation since she didn't see any terrible outcomes for later in the evening.

"Well, I suppose it's nothing really. I was out walking for a bit earlier and met some new girl. It's not about her though -- I didn't get any bad vibes from her or anything and she was human. But we were talking and I got this weird feeling and we both heard something in the forest. Then out comes Emily Young. But what I heard sounded like a voice and it didn't sound anything like Emily's. Is there anyone new in town that we should be worried about?" she asked as she twisted around to face Alice.

Alice's brow creased for all of a second before she straightened and laid back into the couch, thinking. "You mean are there any vampires not Cullen or Hale around?" she said, sounding more like a statement than a question. "I haven't seen anyone."
She moved to lean closer to Bella. "Then again I wasn't looking for anyone...not that I really know who I'm looking for." She then smiled, "But if it's any consolation I haven't seen anyone attacking you or anyone in town."

Bella relaxed back into the couch. "Ok, that's good to know -- puts me a little more at ease," she smiled. She ran a hand through her hair and winced, forgetting about her fall from earlier.
What is with me tonight? It's like I'm making up for the time that I stayed in the house this weekend, she thought briefly.
"So, where is everyone?" she asked, trying to distract Alice from her hands.

Alice reached out when Bella winced and lightly stroked the younger womans head, shaking her head slightly when she realized Bella had probably fallen sometime since she had last seen her. "Everyone went out for a hunt. You know about Edward and Carlisle leaving earlier in the weekend. They're probably be back soon however. I came back early."
She flashed Bella a smile, "I caught a mountain lion," she said, grinning. Alice loved to catch the faster moving prey like Edward did. "Also I didn't want you to be too lonely what with Edward being gone and Charlie working."

Bella smirked, "A mountain lion, huh? Sounds like fun," she laughed, "and I should have known that they would go, especially Jazz -- surprised he didn't leave right after that whole fiasco with the owl...and then the cat," she shook her head slightly.
Truth be told, she kind of felt bad for the guy -- even if he tended to mess with her feelings toward Carlisle and Emmett. Speaking of which, "I really should have a chat with him when he gets back," she muttered.

Alice grinned at Bella's shown interest in the mountain lion. "It was fun," she said. Her smile faded slightly when Bella started to talk about Jasper and she had to fight the laugh that was dying to come out, her lip twitching slightly.
Ignoring the hilarious image of a random owl flying right in front of her partner she looked at Bella curiously as she said she had to talk to Jasper. "Why?" she asked curiously. She always thought that Bella tried to stay a bit clear of Jasper. Alice had figured it was out of courtesy when Bella knew Jasper hadn't fed in a while and knew that he was still working on his human blood lust. Then again she tended to avoid Emmett at times...but that was for fairly obvious reasons. As much as she loved her brother, he could be relentless with the jokes of Bella and her accident prone nature.

Bella rolled her eyes. "It's not that I don't love the good natured fun that your husband likes to have with me, but honestly -- it's getting a bit ridiculous when it gets to the point that he's making me lust after Carlisle and Emmett," she laughed. "It tends to get a bit embarrassing," she shrugged.
She slipped off her shoes and set them under the coffee table. Then she curled her legs up underneath of her and leaned into the arm of the couch. She seemed to always take up this position when it was just her and Alice. She knew that whatever they talked about would stay between them -- she trusted Alice not to think too much about their conversations when Edward was around.

She made a face. The words lust and Carlisle...or Emmett for that matter, we not things she tended to enjoy in the same sentence. "Do you want me to talk to him about that?" she said, watching as Bella curled up on the couch. Alice really didn't understand how Bella couldn't see how adorably cute she was.

Bella shrugged. "I don't know. I don't want to chance him getting upset with me because I didn't come and talk to him about it myself. I'll even make sure that I don't have any open wounds when I talk to him if that will make you feel better," she smiled at Alice, pulling her hair over one shoulder.
