"They're not really scared of me. I think they're more scared for my sanity. Don't quote me on that." He laughed, knowing what would come. Taking out the keys from his pocket, he unlocked the passenger door, then strode to the driver's side. "Are you ready? It's your last chance to back out. Once you're inside the vehicle you've signed the contract."

I smirked. "Course I'm ready. Anyways, I know who to blame if we got in trouble: The 'insane' Jacob Black. Oh, won't that make my day," I said, laughing. I opened the door, then got in. I closed the door, then buckled my seat belt. I crossed myself, and seeing the look on Jake's face I said sarcastically, "I'm praying that I don't get killed from your lack of driving skills." I smiled at him playfully.

Once he saw her situated inside, Jacob in turn sat back in the driver's seat and shut the car door. He buckled his own seat belt and adjusted the mirrors, making a big show of preparation. He then put the keys into the ignition and twisted, a satisfied smile returning to his expression when he heard the engine. "I'm not taking the blame if we run into a tree. You know how they jump out of nowhere." He winked at her.

"Of course they do," I said sarcastically. "I guess the trees are out to get the both of us. Maybe its some government conspiracy. The man is always trying to keep us down!" I said in my most hippy-like voice, then giggled. I thought of what I said before on the beach, and smiled at the thought. "So, where's the hip hop music?" I asked playfully, pushing my hair back away from my face.

"A conspiracy?" he repeated, "If you weren't so keen on making them the public enemy, we might be able to get them on our side. And they're only after me because they think I'm an accomplice. I should stop hanging around you." He said jokingly as he pulled slowly out of the garage, which was only for the sake of not crashing into the side of the house. As the front tires hit the road, he sped up a bit more than necessary, flashing a look over to his passenger to see if he could get a rise out of her. He laughed outright at her last remark, both from the feeling of freedom and the thought of it. It was nice to get away from it all, despite the restrictions the law had on him. He shrugged. "Sure, listen to what you want. The radio works like any other, and I did promise you a hip hop ride. No matter how much it pains me." To emphasize this point, he grimaced.

I laughed at him. "Oh, you know you could never stop hanging out with me. Then you'd have a whole other set of enemies on your hands," I said in a mockingly dark voice. "And yes, the law does have restrictions against this, but since when has that ever stopped you -or me- before?" I asked. It was true. We had been breaking the law since middle school. I mean, no one's ever stopped us, so we didn't have any reason to stop. "No thanks. That was just for the sake of the joke. I hate hip hop music!" I laughed at his face. "Anyways, you pick the music- Just no Brittany Spears, because I know how much you love her," I said sarcastically.

Jacob shuddered. "Trust me, I've been avoiding your bad side since day one. Who knows what the consequences would have been otherwise?" He checked the speedometer and slowed to a more responsible pace. "Just until we're out of the way of any inattentive pedestrians," he said as an excuse. He flipped the radio on, which was already at a local rock station, and a song with a steady beat and the heavy pulse of an electric filled the car. Turning it down so he wouldn't need to shout, he chanced a glance to Alina before keeping his eyes on the road. "Yeah, pity this old car doesn't take CD's. You know how my pop music collection is quite impressive," he shot back in the same sarcastic manner.

I smiled menacingly and said, "You wouldn't be here right now..." Then, not being able to keep a straight face, I laughed out loud. "Good job with slowing down- Here I thought we were gonna be going Cullen speed!" I said, smiling. I felt my leg start bumping up and down to the music quitely. That was a bad habit of mine when music came on; well, only music that I like. "Of course, Jake. We all know you have some Hannah Montana costume hidden in the back of your closet for what you call 'special' occasions that consist of you singing so loud that neighbors have to cover their ears. " I smiled at him, still bouncing my foot/leg.

At the mention of Cullen, his mind began to drift into unpleasant territory, but he managed to swallow most of his disdain. "Luckily for them, they've got vehicles that were made in the last decade. You can't expect the same from one that's often considered to be ancient by ungrateful reviewers. But I'll put what she's got to the test and hopefully I won't have to buy anything else to make up for the injuries. Did I mention that your getting into the car was also a liability waver?" The thick shelter of the forest blazed past them, getting denser with each mile, and he knew the secluded area he'd designated was getting close. "Hey, you said you'd never mention that again! Everyone needs an alter ego, and that whole singer-by-night deal really hit a chord with me. Plus, I have a great voice," he stated confidently, though he knew this was far from the truth. "You know you'll come see me when I make the big time."

I laughed, then said, "Of course I will, Jake. Anyways, what's your name gonna be- Jakey McCakey?" I thought for a second, smiled, then said, "Oh my god, I could so see it!" She put on a deep announcer voice and said, "We're please to welcome the one, the only, Jakey McCakey!" I laughed. "You know, I would so pay to see that! Oh, and I know I signed the contract when I got in. I'm up for a wild ride!" I said enthusiastically, smiling at him.

Jacob laughed when he tried to envision it. "You're really stretching it on the rhyme. Am I going to be a baker in the "real" world or something? And here I had thought I would have a cooler occupation. Maybe a scientist or, if I was lucky, I would be born into a powerful family and have immense wealth from the start. But I guess that's getting into the superhero genera." He nodded in approval. "Nice announcer imitation. I might have to hire you on if I get to the point. You probably have grander plans up your sleeve anyway, right?" He pressed down on the gas slightly, accelerating the car little by little. "And a wild ride is guaranteed. This is only the warm up lap."

"Ooooh fun. I've got my 'whoo hoo' scream all prepared. And yes, I do have bigger plans- Think actress in hollywood who stars in amazing movies along side A-List celebrities like Johnny Depp, or Brad Pitt... No, James Lafferty and Chace Crawford. And I know that you could never be a baker- you suck at cooking! I could teach you something and I'm pretty average. Anyways, I would think that you would wanna do something with cars," I said, smiling, then pushed my bangs back again.

"Could you handle the pressure? What, with the paparazzi following you around while taking snapshots of you at your best and worst, I think you'd be next in line for the funny farm. I've already saved you a spot." He smirked, his mind drifting back to myths. They had become increasingly persistent in having his attention lately, and he forced his focus back onto the long stretch of road before him. "But if you believe fame and fortune would compensate for that, then go for it. Just be sure to credit me when you win your Oscar. 'Jacob Black was the best chauffeur. He never charged me for any of his rides.' Something like that'll do for me." He shrugged. "I dunno what I want to do, really. Too early to be worrying about that stuff and I keep my schedule booked only a day in advance."

I laughed. "I could sooo take the heat. And its not fame or fortune I'm after- Its the feeling of being on the big screen, doing what you love. Oh, and don't try and fool me- Most of the time you decide what you're going to do on the spot," I said, giggling. "And yes, I will credit you, Mr. Chauffeur. I am very thankful for your services. No crashes at all!" I "knocked on wood" and smiled at him.

"Sure, sure. You could probably hold your own against any of them if it came down to it. Even though you're doing it because you enjoy it, there's still a major bonus: influence. Aha!" Jacob realized at once. "This is your way of gaining power, right? I see it now. You'll brainwash all your avid fans. Before the government can step in, they'll take axes and make paper out of your worst enemy -- all for the opportunity to get your autograph. I know you too well to overlook it." He smiled. "Just like you know me too well. Spontaneity is the way to live. Caring only for the moment and maybe, if I'm on the Big Man Upstairs' good side, I'll get a nice adrenaline rush from it."
At that, he abruptly pressed his foot down hard on the gas, listening to the engine rev at the sudden burst of momentum. The forest around them disappeared into a wall of green, opening into a pool of light and space at the far end. He didn't take any chances of looking over at Alina's reaction. He could wait until later for the full effect. It had been mere seconds, yet time stood still from when they hit a solid speed to when he turned the wheel sharply, spinning the car around in a frenzy of shrieking tires and dizzying movements. He slammed on the brakes, his eyes bright with excitement. True, it wasn't as impressive as it would have been with a Mustang, but the danger of it falling apart was an added thrill. "And you're right," he continued indifferently, "not a scratch."
