Leah acted like she didn't hear her and walked to pay for her boots. She didn't actually like the, but she wanted to get out of the store, tat was so full of people she despised.

Still trying not to blow up on Leah i turned around facing the boy, Bella, and Noa. When Leah finally left, I vented. "I cannot believe her!" I say not even trying to hide my anger, and sadness. "Sometimes.. I wish I never came to visit Leah." Leah had become more annoying now than ever. "But i guess it was worth it." I spoke when I thought about Sam.

"Sometimes.. I wish I never came to visit Leah." Leah had become more annoying now than ever.
Leah heard her saying. "Well, our feelings are mutual," she said a little louder than she had planned. Her voice was somewhat hysterical, like always, when she was thinking about Sam. "I hate you, Emily!" She almost yelled that.

Well, our feelings are mutual. I hate you, Emily! She practically screamed it. Hate is a strong word, and I honestly didn't care that much about it anymore. Leah and I went our separate ways awhile ago. Things weren't going to be the same again, they never were. "Same goes to you Leah." I yelled back, furiously. I couldn't let the word hate escape my lips.

She had heard that.
"Fine," yelled Leah, "Fine! Like I care. I don't care. See! I don't care," Leah turned around and walked furiously away. She was so angry, that she didn't even notive people curiously watching and pointing fingers at her.

I felt my mouth fall open, and heard the door slam. I ran the nastiest things through my head but, couldn't bring myself to say them aloud. Before i liked Leah but she didn't like me. Now I hated leah with all my might.

When she was far enough for Emily to hear her, Leah sat down on the ground and hugged her knees. She knew, she had made herself look like bitter ex-girlfriend before ("which you are," she reminded herself) and now she felt ashamed. People were now certainly laughing at her, talking about this crazy native-American girl making scenes... But she was just so angry and so sad and she had no other ways to express her feelings. Emily had been her only friend and now she had nobody... But she didn't want to cry, she was too angry for that, and so she just sat there, hating her destiny and herself.

I started to feel bad about what I had done, and negotiated going outside to talk to Leah. However, it would probably cause another scene. I began to ponder ideas to apologize. I decided i'd give her a little space, then i'd send her a letter or leave a voicemail to apologize. If I did it in public i'd just be humiliating myself, and more importantly.. Leah.

Bella had been quiet during the whole exchange. Things around here were certainly never as dull as one might think. Sighing, she walked around the counter and over to Emily. Placing a hand on her shoulder, she asked, "You alright?"
It was well known that her and Emily weren't exactly Leah's most favorite people in the world, but she would like to think that they could all at least be civil with each other in mixed company. It just seemed to her like maybe things had been bottled up for far too long that even this small encounter had caused things to overflow.

I felt Bella place her small hands on my shoulder, and she asked me Are you alright? How was I going to begin doing this without crying. "Yes" I lied. Trying to make it as believable as I could. I tried to smile, but it was so shaky.. I highly doubted Bella bought it. I had to shut my eyes for a few moments to keep myself from pouring out into sobs. I placed my hand on my burning forehead, I had come here to buy things for my cmping trip not to be mauled by my angry cousin. I moved my hand to find Bella standing on my side of the counter this time.
"Leah. Leah. Leah." I mumbled low enough that only I could hear it.

Bella looked at Emily sadly. She knew that she wouldn't talk with strangers in the room. So she turned to the guys and said, "We'll be right back. You all play nice."
Then she looked at Emily and said, "Come on," understandingly and began to lead her to the back room. She figured that Emily might want to pull herself together, then get the stuff she came for, and go home.

Bella pulled me into the back room, and I broke down. Giant wads of tears rolling down the little curves on my cheeks.
"I remember back when we were around ten, and we would get along so well!" I spoke in between sobs. "Now she despises me. I'm not very pleased with her, either honestly." i took a tissue off a stand and wiped off every tear that had rolled down my cheeks. "Your probably like, oh please Emily get a grip!" I joked making myself laugh.
"I feel bad though.." I said once i was done with the tears. "Sam was really the only guy that truly liked her, and I took that away from her." I began fiddling with my fingers. "Maybe I should just pay for my stuff, and get home."

Bella shook her head. "You can't help who you love, look at me and Edward," she said with a soft laugh, "and you certainly can't help that Sam imprinted on you. I'm sure that if you give it time, everything will work itself out again. It may take longer than you like, but you all are family. You can't let something like a guy get in between you," she said softly.
"And Leah is a beautiful girl, she'll find someone soon. But I mean, look at us, we're only 16 and 17, talking about love and marriage," she laughed, "we're not even legal yet."
"Maybe I should just pay for my stuff, and get home."
"You don't have to go yet unless you need to be alone -- or you need to be there before Sam. But just remember, I'm something of a friend so I'm here if you need to talk," she said with a smile.

I laughed, "Yes, love!" I exclaimed. You don't have to go yet unless you need to be alone -- or you need to be there before Sam. But just remember, I'm something of a friend so I'm here if you need to talk "Thank you Bella, but i think it would be best if I got home now before Leah turns around to come kill me, especially after that!" I laughed a little. "Just Kidding, but of course your my friend Bella, and I appreciate the talk, I feel a lot better now!" I said and with no more words said I hugged her. I left the back room to go pay for my things, and made my way to the car.
She is surprisingly helpful, Bella.

Bella followed Emily out and took her money, giving her the change. "Bye, Emily," she smiled, "talk to you soon," she called as Emily walked out of the store.
She then turned her focus to the two guys who were still a good distance away from each other. It seemed as if Noa's mom was still looking for whatever it was that she was here for, Noa was back by the chair she had found him on, and the other guy was still looking through backpacks.
